I have happily become the new owner of a very much loved juicer.
This juicer has been a serial recipe maker, an energy fueler for a health and wellbeing goddess and has sat in one of the nicest kitchens, with one of the nicest views in Shanghai!
And now it’s with me…… an inexperienced juicer, who drinks coffee for fuel and owns a kitchen with a window that backs on to the door of the apartment that accesses the first floor of our complex - this juicer better not have expectations.
But my first juice was made last week, and it was made with gratitude.
I have named it ‘Martina’ - after the original owner of the juicer. Let me tell you, big shoes to fill.
- 1 lemon
- 1 cucumber
- 1 apple
- 1 pear
- 3 large handfuls of spinach
- 1 large handful of mint
Makes 1 - 2 cups
The juicer did not let me down - this delight had just the right touch of zing, and sweetness of the apple and pear. It was topped off with the love of mint to give it that spring, fresh feel and taste. Beware - like the real Martina, she’s addictive!
